Festive Cupcakes
I heart cupcakes. And I heart making fancy cupcakes...but sometimes I was something fancy without all the work. Something that SAYS I put effort into it, without actually having to put in a lot of effort.
*
Cranberry Cupcakes to the rescue!!
*
You will need:
Baking Cups
Yellow Cake Mix
Oil
Eggs
Fresh Cranberries
Cream Cheese Frosting
*
Take one box of yellow cake mix, and prepare as directed.
Coarsely chop 1.5-2 cups of fresh cranberries.
Mix into your yellow cake mix, pour and bake as directed.
After they cool, frost with cream cheese frosting, and place a whole fresh cranberry on the top.

Strip Patchwork Bags
What to make a teenage fashionista? That was my dilemma... I decided on a patchwork bag, but lacked the motivation to get 'er done!
That was until my recent visit with "Piggyletta." I was inspired by her beautiful quilt, made all out of scraps.
I've needed to sort and organize my fabric for weeks, so I dumped it all out on the floor and got busy! I turned a big messy pile of fabric into this:

Seven new bags, all available on my website. The sun and the wind have not been cooperating...making it difficult to get really good pictures. But here are a few of my favorites~
The Rocker Chick Bag

Rainbows & Cupcakes Bag
Wonders of Nature Bag
Please head over to intergalacticrose.com to check out the rest of the bags! And stay tuned for some festive cupcake recipes!!

The Fridge
Every mom needs to brag once in a while, so I am creating a new category called "The Fridge," to show off my daughter's talents. This was last night's homework, and for those of you that have been to my house, you might notice that the picture looks JUST like our living room!
Awwww....

67. Make Heat Packs
Need to use scraps.... Need a gift for Mother in Law who has everything.... What's a crafty mama to do? Make some yummy organic cotton heat packs!!
These are soooo easy to make, you probably don't even need a tutorial, but here's one with a fancy washable cover. I sewed a few scraps together with the natural organic cotton (left over from my daughter's flower girl dress)...mixed some Basmati Rice with Wyndmere *Relaxing* Oil...filled the bag, stitched it closed, and wha~la!, a nice little gift for MiL's gift basket!
These make a nice gift for teachers, too! Throw a heat pack in a little basket with some tea, a body scrub and an organic chocolate bar and you've got a lovely *take care* package for under $10!!

Top 10 Natural Remedies
With Cold & Flu season upon us, I thought it would be a good time to share some of my favorite, tried and true natural remedies. While I have tried all of these remedies myself, please use your best judgement....I am studying to become an herbalist, but have no medical degree.

Earache- Take a small square of onion, and rest it in the ear. Don't push it in too far. Alleviates the pain almost immediately.
Sinus infection/Cold- Dice a medium clove of garlic, and swallow with a glass of water. Do this once a day until you start to feel better. I had chronic sinus infections, and haven't had to go on antibiotic for 6 years due to this little "trick." For children, try making a carrot-apple-garlic juice.
Cold Prevention- Elderberry. Found in a variety of syrups and capsules, take as directed at the first sign of sniffles, and you can most likely ward off a cold!
Sore Throat- Salt and warm water work for a mild sore throat, but it you have stronger pain, put 2-3 drops of Tea Tree Oil in the glass with the salt & water and gargle. Tea Tree should not be ingested, so this is not recommended for children or people with allergies.
Pain due to Inflammation- Cumin. Personally, I use Curamin.

"Trouble" Skin- Mix a 1/4 cup of sugar (or salt, but I prefer sugar) with a tablespoon or two of water and scrub your face. I also highly recommend derma e Tea Tree & E Antiseptic Creme.

Fungal Infections- For skin fungus, apply patchouli oil to the affected area. Stops the itch immediately! Tea tree and garlic oil can also work.
Anxiety- Kava Kava is the greatest blessing for those suffering from anxiety. I use Pharma Kava drops for moderate to severe anxiety, and Yogi Tea Kava Stress Relief for mild to moderate anxiety.

Heartburn- Ginger! Ginger tea is your best bet, but in a pinch, you can take a 1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger with a glass of water. Ginger is also good for nausea.
Nausea- Peppermint tea. It got me through 6 months of morning sickness!!
Hope these remedies can help you & yours stay happy & healthy!!!

Show Me Your Lists!
Who doesn't love a good list? I might be boarderline obsessive with my list making... I usually have several going at once, and sometimes I make lists just for fun. Hey, I never said I was perfect!!
So I got the idea for a "show me your list" blogroll....what do you think?
Here's my current To Do List....
Oddly enough, I stumbled across these free printable to do lists this morning, at Tizzalicious Crafts, courtesy of Babyccino. Cute, no?

Gifts for Cat People
Let me begin by saying that making cat toys while cats are present is difficult and sometimes even dangerous work! Since I know soooo many cat lovers, I decided to whip up a few batches of cat toys for Holiday Gifts. Kitties love sushi too~*~
Cutey catnip filled felt sushi rolls!! I'd love to think that I'll get you all a tutorial someday, but I'm awful about writing tutorials. First off, I don't use patterns myself, I just figure it out. But maybe I'll try...just maybe...
And the reason making cat toys is near mission impossible? Subjects #1 & #2...Franklin and Bertha (who are shown here taking a break from stalking me).
And #3...McFly, shown here patiently waiting for me to get up for coffee so he can attack. For those of you that don't know, McFly's the newest member of our family....little feral kitty he is!
Looking forward to making a few more batched of cat toys....I've already done fish, too....I'm thinking maybe eggs and bacon (fakey bacon of course)?
